STAS minirail: narrowest picture hanging system in the world

The STAS minirail is our most popular hanging system, with a narrow profile of just 16 mm high that is barely noticeable in your interior. With a load capacity of 25 kg/m¹, it gives you the freedom to flexibly hang photos, art, mirrors, clocks, plants, pin boards and more — without drilling new holes every time you redecorate.

Each rail comes with an installation kit containing all necessary parts, including a connector and combicap. Rails can be joined with the connector, cut to length with a hacksaw, and the combicap can be split for use as two end caps or a corner connector. Mount the rail using the supplied clip screws with Torx T20 head, placed approximately 30–40 cm apart. Tip: all STAS rail systems can be painted to match your wall or ceiling colour.

Installation is easy

Proper hanging starts with the right installation. Everything you need for a smooth and secure fixing is right here.

Installation & use
Wall mounting, at least 19 mm from the ceiling
Tools needed
Drill, pencil or marker pen, screwdriver, spirit level, tape measure, Stanley knife, crosscut saw
  • 1. Determine the position

    Use the enclosed drilling template to measure the height and mark the fixing points. Check everything is level with a spirit level and maintain the recommended distance between the drill holes.

  • 2. Drill the holes

    Drill holes at the marked points using the correct drill bit diameter. For hard surfaces such as concrete or stone, use a hammer drill. Insert the wall plugs into the holes and secure the screws with the rail clips.

  • 3. Fix the rail

    Clip the rail onto the rail clips. Not going in first time? Place a soft cloth over the rail and gently tap it into position with a rubber mallet.

  • 4. Hang your item

    Hook your chosen cord into the rail. This rail is compatible with all STAS cords with a cobra connector. Slide the hook onto the cord, adjust it to the desired height, hang your picture, and you're done!
